§ 14-5-10. Documents relating to real property; city council reports.

  • (a)

    All deeds, mortgages, contracts, leases, purchases, or other agreements regarding real property, including properties currently managed by the commission and/or those properties subject to a declaration of trust, and agreements to acquire or dispose of real property, shall be approved and executed in the name of the commission.

    (b)

    Where procuring with federal funds, the Detroit Housing Commission shall utilize federal procurement procedures.

    (c)

    Pursuant to the applicable provision of the Michigan Housing Act, being MCL 125.661, contracts and purchase orders for necessary materials, as well as leases with commission residents and options, do not require approval by the city council.

    (d)

    The housing commission shall make an annual report of its activities to the city council and such other reports as city council from time to time require.
