§ 38-1-8. Presence of seeing-eye dogs in public places.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person, either on his own account or on behalf of any partnership, association or corporation, to exclude any sightless person accompanied by a seeing-eye dog or other guide dog, especially trained and educated for that purpose, from the equal enjoyment of any accommodation, facility or privilege furnished by innkeepers or common carriers or by owners, managers or lessees of theaters, restaurants, hotels or other public places of amusement or resort; provided, that such a dog shall not be permitted to run free, shall be in guide harness or on a leash, and shall be under the control of its blind master at all times.
