§ 42-1-3. Same—Application; authority of environmental protection and maintenance department to grant permits.

  • Any person may apply to and receive a permit from the environmental protection and maintenance department to lay conduits, erect poles and place thereon or therein wires or other conductors for the purpose of furnishing telephone, telegraph and electric lighting or other service wires to any person desiring the same within the district to be designated in the application to be made for such permit. The environmental protection and maintenance department is hereby authorized to grant such permits for the laying of conduits, erection of poles and placing of wires therein or thereon in the streets, alleys or other public or private places in the city; subject, however, to the conditions and restrictions imposed by this Code and all other general ordinances of the city.
