§ 56-3-44. Construction by private contract of lateral sewers and public and lateral sewers relocations.

(a)

Any person desiring to construct, under a private contract either a lateral sewer or the relocation of an existing lateral or public sewer shall secure the approval and the permission of the board of water commissioners to perform such work.

(b)

The sewers shall be constructed in accordance with plans prepared by or approved by the board of water commissioners and shall be installed under their permit and supervision.

(c)

All sewers constructed as provided in this section shall revert to the city and shall become part of the city sewer system.
