For the purposes of this article, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings
respectively ascribed to them by this section:
Detroit People Mover System
shall mean the elevated guideway for horizontal distribution of people throughout
the central business district of the City of Detroit. The Detroit People Mover System
shall include all land, easement rights, facilities, and improvements utilized by
the Detroit Transportation Corporation and/or the City of Detroit including but not
limited to the stations; elevated guideways including foundations, columns, beams,
and supporting structures; power stations and substations, operation and maintenance
facilities and buildings; and the Detroit People Mover vehicles and equipment.
Detroit Transportation Corporation
shall mean the public corporation formed October 4, 1985, pursuant to 1967 PA 7 to
construct, operate, manage and perform all other necessary and lawful acts in furtherance
of opening a central automated transit system known as the Detroit People Mover.
